They are not cancerous, they don’t spread like warts and they aren’t any kind of serious medical problem at all.
Rule 2: Don’t Pick At It
It may be hard not to pick at it, but picking at a skin tag will only make things worse for you. You may cause an infection or cause the tag to bleed if you pick at it too much. If you want them gone, then leave them alone until you can take care of them properly!
Rule 3: Don’t Tug At It
1. Clean Your Skin Tag with Rubbing Alcohol
The first step that you’ll want to do is clean your skin tag with rubbing alcohol. This will reduce the likelihood of infection and prevent any other bacteria from growing on the area. Use a cotton swab to apply the alcohol, and be careful not to rub too hard.
2. Cut Off Blood Flow To Your Skin Tag
By cutting off the blood flow to your skin tag, it will eventually die and drop off on its own. There are several ways to do this:
Tying a string around the base of your skin tag, so that it starts to cut off circulation (but this can take weeks)
Using Dental Floss or Thread: This is similar to tying a string around your skin tag, but it doesn’t have to be as tight. The floss or thread simply has to be tight enough to cut off blood circulation.
Freezing: Another method is freezing, which can also cut off circulation by destroying blood vessels in the skin tag.
3. Remove The Skin Tag Yourself Using Scissors Or Nail Clippers
After you’ve tried some of the methods above, you may want to try removing it yourself using scissors or nail clippers (sterilized with rubbing alcohol).
1. Stop touching your skin tags
When you have skin tags, it is very tempting to just pick at them. This can be a very destructive behavior, as I learned the hard way. It is easy to accidentally rip off the skin tag, which will leave a wound that takes longer to heal.
