Do You Have Dry Skin? Use This Moisturizer to Get Rid of Peel

Dry skin is a problem many of us face – so I decided to create a blog about it. It’s called Peel, with the subtitle “a blog about dry skin and the best moisturizers and skincare practices.”

I should explain why I chose that name. My skin was always dry, so when I was younger I used to peel my dead skin off in the shower, which I know is gross but also felt amazing. But then I learned that you’re actually not supposed to do that, because it causes your skin to produce more oil and just makes the problem worse over time. So now I use moisturizer instead.

But there are so many moisturizers! And some of them are really bad for you. So I decided to write about what works for me, in the hopes that it may help others with dry skin too.

Do you have dry skin? Do you feel like your skin is so dry it’s going to peel off your face like a snake? I have struggled with this my whole life. My skin was always so dry it was uncomfortable. No matter how much moisturizer I used, nothing seemed to work.

Then one day, I tried an all-natural moisturizer made from organic ingredients. I went from having dry, flaky skin to having the softest skin you can imagine. My makeup looked better and my face felt great.

The secret is using a moisturizer that contains only natural ingredients, like coconut oil and shea butter. These two ingredients are the best moisturizers money can buy, and they are also very inexpensive. They are what I use every day on my face, and my skin is softer than a baby’s butt!

People always assume that since I have dry skin, I know a lot about skincare. I don’t really. I’m a black American and we don’t really do skincare. But because of my skin, I’ve had to actually figure out what works and what doesn’t.

The first thing you have to understand about moisturizer is that it’s not all the same. Every type of skin requires a different moisturizer. If you have oily skin, you need something that absorbs easily and won’t clog your pores. If you have dry skin, you need something rich, like Vaseline or cocoa butter.

Before I started using a moisturizer, my skin would get so dry it would literally peel off in sheets. Then the exposed areas would become infected, which made matters even worse! Using a good moisturizer cured this problem completely within just a few weeks!

My sister has oily skin and she uses a non-greasy body lotion on her face every day. She swears by it and her skin is beautiful!

So you have dry skin, and you want to get rid of it? We can help!

Dry skin is a common condition that can affect anyone. If we don’t take care of our skin, it can turn into a more serious condition called dermatitis.

Luckily, there are a number of things you can do to keep your skin healthy and moisturized. In this post, we’ll list our top 10 tips on how to treat dry skin and avoid flaky skin in the future.

1. Avoid hot showers

Hot water removes natural oils from our skin, leaving it feeling dry and tight. As much as possible, use warm water for bathing or showering instead. Avoid staying in the water for too long, which will lead to more water loss from the body through evaporation.

2. Use gentle cleansers

Use soap-free facial cleansers instead of harsh soaps on the face and body to avoid drying out your skin. Look for cleansers with ingredients like ceramides and hyaluronic acid, both of which are excellent for maintaining moisture in the epidermis (outermost layer) of the skin.

If you’ve got dry skin, you know how uncomfortable it can be: tightness, redness, peeling, cracking, flaking, itching and even bleeding.

Dehydrated skin doesn’t have enough water in the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the epidermis). Dry skin lacks lipids like ceramides that help maintain a healthy moisture barrier. As a result, water evaporates through your skin’s surface faster than normal, leading to dehydration.

You’ve got options for treating dry skin if you know where to look.
