Styling Habits That Help Regardless of Type

"Halo Frizz" Versus Overall Frizz
Not all frizz behaves the same way, even on the same head. Many people, regardless of curl pattern, notice a ring of shorter, frizzier baby hairs specifically around the hairline and crown — often called halo frizz. These shorter strands are usually newer growth that hasn't yet reached the same length or weight as the rest of the hair, so they're more easily lifted and disrupted by humidity and static, independent of the porosity or pattern of the longer lengths around them.
